Yuva Olympics
7th July 2024
The first-ever Yuva Olympics 2024, hosted at SDAT Nehru Park, was a day of remarkable sportsmanship and inclusivity. Organized by the Yi Chennai Chapter, the event brought together 16 Yuva colleges, including the Yuva Club of REC, with over 200 participants, alongside 7 accessibility institutions featuring more than 100 differently-abled athletes. The day kicked off with a thrilling boccia match under the guidance of Mr. Sathish Vidhya Sagar, followed by an awe-inspiring blind football game led by Mr. Sebastian. Both events captivated the audience, showcasing the athletes' skills, teamwork and determination. One of the most heartwarming moments came when a wheelchair-bound participant and his father expressed deep gratitude for the event’s inclusivity. The joy and excitement radiating from the athletes and spectators highlighted the event's success in fostering a sense of unity and community. Weeks of planning, dedication and teamwork paid off, making the Yuva Olympics a truly unforgettable day. The event not only celebrated sports but also broke barriers, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
